GAIA'S HEARTBEAT experience the pulsing earth in photos
Encased within a crystalline structure
Translucent
Worlds untouched – unknown
A glass of wine, winter boots and my daily pilgrimage into the gardens.
These past few weeks the Arctic’s cold breath has ended with a whisper of southern warmth.
Winter’s white morphs into a glass encased landscape.
I take care not to slip and spill my wine…
What was once a liquid is now a solid
It wraps itself around all it touches
Freezing as it follows paths dictated by gravity
Almost invisible to human sight small imperfections glisten like encrusted crystals
As warmth creeps back into the valleys what is first an almost imperceptible sound becomes louder as the melting ice releases itself from branches and berries and crashes to the forest floor
