GAIA'S HEARTBEAT experience the pulsing earth in photos
Encased within a crystalline structure
Translucent
Worlds untouched – unknown
I knew by the meteorological events of the night that along the stream bed the Sprites had come out to dance and fly and leave behind a glimpse of their magic. What they left behind grew exponentially as Mother Gaia’s warm breath met the cold night air.
I couldn’t contain myself, at every step a new and wonderous creation appeared.
One photograph than two, each bringing clarity to the formations of ice.
I hope you take a moment to look through that which we have shared. You will make the Sprites smile tonight!
If you are interested What is hore frost? and why is it called that?
There are several different kinds of frost. One of them is hoar-frost, also known as radiation frost, hoarfrost, or pruina. This refers to interlocking arrangement of white ice crystals that are deposited loosely on the ground or any exposed object forming on very cold nights whenever heat is lost into the sky causing objects to become colder than the air that surrounds it.
I love discovering new and unique things in the gardens. An insect viewed from a different perspective or a non-traditional flower.
Winter offers an entirely new perspective challenge. Void of the rainbow of colors and abundance of life found in other seasons, winter’s gifts must be sought out.
I wait for the cold to envelope the land and snow and ice to fall.
When warming air collides with subfreezing temperatures, magic happens.
Beauty abounds.

RESOLution – resolve “firm determination to do something”
reSOLUTION – solution “the act of solving or explaining a problem”
I’ve never been one to make a resolution. I’ve always believed if one wants to change an aspect of their life you do it whatever day or time it is. Something I resolved to do on a long past day and time was to appreciate the world around me.
Those I love
And the those I fear
The smallest of creatures
The tallest of buildings
Each day presents me with a gift
I only need a moment of time to find it
a series of photographs of ice crystals on the stream behind our home
A magical find
January 1st, 2018
A few days ago I longed for the colors of a warm day
But now I wake each day with anticipation and curiosity to see what is “growing” in the winter world
Every day is joyous experience if we take a moment to stop and see what surrounds us!
Ice crystals growing on stalks of last season’s Goldenrod
Captured at sunrise on the way to work!
Take a moment to revisit the crystals that formed stream-side the beginning of this year
