The final in the current series of photographs featuring the butterflies at Valley View.
Great Spangled Fritillary Butterfly www.butterfliesandmoths.org/species/Speyeria-cybele
Many of the butterflies that live amongst the flowers at Valley View are diminutive creatures.
If anyone knows what type of butterfly this is, please let me know!
Mottled Dusky Wing Butterfly www.butterfliesandmoths.org/species/Erynnis-martialis
It was challenging to photograph them with a point and shoot camera. I did find some of the results to be amazing. Their color popped!
Pearl Crescent Butterfly www.butterfliesandmoths.org/species/Phyciodes-tharos
Gray Hairstreak www.butterfliesandmoths.org/species/Strymon-melinus
Others appear to move so quickly that they have been named for their flight.
Silver Spotted Skipper www.butterfliesandmoths.org/species/Epargyreus-clarus
Occasionally I would come upon a miracle in the making.
Cabbage White Butterfly www.butterfliesandmoths.org/species/Pieris-rapae
Perhaps this is the offspring …
