Beginnings

A new start – the source from which something new springs forth

I love caterpillars as much as I love butterflies and moths. Their shapes and colors are astounding. But even more miraculous  is how a creature that has a multitude of legs and appears to be nothing more than a colorful sac filled with fluff can emerge to become a creature with scaled wings that flies higher than any human can jump. Take time to seek them out and smile at what Gaia has created!

  1. Very cool photos, Bonnie! A nice refreshing look into the promise of spring on a cold winter day. 🙂 I especially like the last one. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen one of those. I just love what you capture with your eyes and your lens.

    1. Thank you. I am always so happy to find them in my yard. My camera sits on the table in my garden as I work outside just waiting for something unique to Come along!

  2. Great photos of a wonderful nature! And there is a further amazing guest in Your garden: Your “Walnut sphinx caterpillar” is a Lintneria species! (You have photographed it on a Lamiaceae plant, which is also typical for this genus.)

Best wishes and Thanks for sharing,

    1. Thank you Thank you Thank you!!! You know your caterpillars. If you ever have the time, maybe you could look at other posts I’ve done on caterpillars and butterflies and check if I was able to identify correctly lol!
