A Glimpse of Chartreuse

As a child I remember crushing the red berries between my fingers releasing an aroma that was sweet and yet pungent.

I was told by my father Native Americans would crush the berries to make a spice and brew tea from the leaves.

Today I walk neutral woods hoping to glimpse a spattering of Chartreuse.
