Butterflies that Grace the Garden – 7

The final in the current series of photographs featuring the butterflies at Valley View.

Great Spangled Fritillary Butterfly   www.butterfliesandmoths.org/species/Speyeria-cybele

Many of the butterflies that live amongst the flowers at Valley View are diminutive creatures.

If anyone knows what type of butterfly this is, please let me know!

It was challenging to photograph them with a point and shoot camera.  I did find some of the results to be amazing. Their color popped!

Gray Hairstreak    www.butterfliesandmoths.org/species/Strymon-melinus

Others appear to move so quickly that they have been named for their flight.

Silver Spotted Skipper   www.butterfliesandmoths.org/species/Epargyreus-clarus

Occasionally I would come upon a miracle in the making.

Perhaps this is the offspring …

Thank you for dropping by.  If you’re so inclined, please let me know what you think or share if you like this post.

Enjoy your day

  1. I have really enjoyed the butterfly posts! Patiently, I have been watching and hoping to see if you photographed the “resurrection butterfly” that appeared in the hospital window as my dad passed away….and there it is….the Cabbage White butterfly. Beautiful photography!

  2. Oh I like these photos so much better today. They are fantastic. Still can’t get over how you can get such great photos of the butterflies. Thanks for sharing them with us.
